In relatively warm and calm conditions (for December), Ian Inglis (Kinning Cycles CC) stormed round the Portaferry Road 10 mile time trial course this morning in 21:12 to break the event record and lift the Jardine Trophy. (Peter McLean did record 21:11 2 years ago, but the course was later deemed to be slightly short on that occasion.)

Fastest women was Hazel Smyth (also Kinning Cycles CC) with an impressive 25:11.

There was a good crowd at the finish

Three generations of the Curry family

Plenty of time to catch up with old friends at the finish

The chairman managed to squeeze in a quick speech :-)

Thanks to new club time keeper Evie Martin (and to Darren for teaching her the basics)

Lots of debate at the finish line.

Many thanks to the marshals

And finally – the latest and the oldest tech (also reflected in the riders’ finishing positions). Maybe a two spoke aero front wheel on the penny next year…
