On a beautiful evening for time trialling, Mark Kane broke the course record on the club’s “new” 25 mile time trial course. His time of 54:20 beat the previous course record set by Ian Inglis in last year’s Champion of Champion’s 25 by 6 seconds.
I was a great night for the Ards men too, with Ivan Robinson, Robin Millar, William Gill, Richard Hanna and William Orr also breaking their previous personal bests for a club 25.
After three counting events in the McFarlane Trophy (calculated on a scratch basis across all club 10 and 25 mile time trials), William Gill has a slight lead, but there are still 6 other riders within 10 points of him.
