There’s still time to sign up for our Tour of Strangford Charity Sportive. Pre entry closes on Saturday at 7pm. Enter via http://www.entrycentral.com/tourofstrangford. On the day entry will be £20.
Sign on location – Ards Bowling Club – 70 South St, Newtownards BT23 4JU
Sign on open from 8am – Riders on the 80 mile route leave at 9am. Riders doing the 50 mile route leave at 9:30am.
Anyone without a Cycling Ireland licence must pay an extra £5 at sign on for a compulsory event licence, which provides third party and personal accident insurance cover for the day. (Bring your licence to sign on)
This year there is the choice of 2 routes.
Route 1: 80 miles
The 80 mile route travels south from Newtownards along the west shore of the lough to Strangford, then a short hop by ferry to Portaferry where lunch will be available. Inland route back up the Peninsula to finish in Newtownards.

Route 2: 50 miles.
The 50 mile route stays on the Ards Peninsula. From Newtownards head south through Greyabbey and Kircubbin to Portaferry for lunch. Then follow the same route home as the 80 mile route.

Both routes will have a lunch stop in the Community Centre in Portaferry. There will also be refreshments available at the finish in the bowling club.
The routes will be marked with road markings ‘ToS’ and signage.
There will be a support vehicle on the long route should you require assistance.
All participants should note that the wearing of cycle helmets is compulsory and that all traffic laws must be adhered to. Also each person involved with the event does so at their own risk.
