Ards veteran riders dominated in tonight’s 10 mile time trial in Millisle, taking the top four places. Conditions were a lot better than the first 10 miler 3 weeks ago, but there was still a niggling cross wind. Fastest was Ivan Robinson with 23:08, followed by Robin Millar on 23:44. There was another close battle between Niall Brown and Willy Gill, this time for 3rd place, with Niall once again getting the verdict by 3 seconds.

In the 10 mile handicap cup, Niall maintains his lead, but there are a number of riders snapping at his heals, and all still to play for in the final 10 mile in July.

It was great to see former club chairman Mike “the bike” McConaghy down tonight. Mike will be riding at Eroica Britannia in the Peak District in June with his son Graham – it looks like a great event.

Finally – thanks as always to the timekeepers and marshals.
