AlexD2Valerie Dickson generously presented the club with a Gazebo in memory of her husband Alex who died in 2013. Alex had a lifelong interest in cycling, initially with Maryland Wheelers and as an NICF official, and later as a member of Ards CC when the family moved to Comber in the early 1980s. Alex was a club time keeper, and also club treasurer, and was noted for his attention to detail. His sons Stuart and Ian also raced with the club. In his later years Alex suffered from Alzheimer’s, but he maintained his interest in the club and its members for many years.

The Dickson family asked what they could do for the club, and it was agreed that a gazebo would be a great help at many of our events.

Bernard, on behalf of the club, thanked the Dickson family for their generosity.
