This Tuesday’s club 25 mile time trial (26th May) will be on the club’s new 25 mile course on the Portaferry Road, and not the older course used for the recent Champion of Champions 25. Sign on will be near the entrance to Ards airfield, where there is room to park cars. Riders are asked not to park near the garage at the start.
Congratulations to Martyn Irvine on his dominant win in the Shay Elliott memorial recently, and on some very strong riding in the An Post Ras last week where he rose as high as third on GC despite being heavily marked. He is laying down a very solid base of fitness ahead of his build up to Rio. The signs are good, and as always we wish him all the best!
And also at the Ras last week, it was great to see this year’s Tour of Ards winner Damien Shaw taking on the pros, with three podium finishes in the final three stages.
