Despite the warm, muggy conditions, and the lack of any appreciable tail wind, Stuart Millar’s winning time in tonight’s Scrabo hill climb was just 5 seconds off his course record set in 2021.
Barry Mitchell strained every sinew to take a strong second.
Ian Carson showed why he was upgraded to second cat at the weekend with a strong third.
Ben Healey casually dropped in on the way home from work to take fourth.
Paul Hamilton, from legendary climbing club Dromara CC took fifth.
The Pawel Cybulski fan club shouted support from the branches of a tree overlooking the course. Cool..
Jessica Kerr recorded a very respectable 6:23.
Richard Hanna’s choice of handlebar suggested he was hoping for easier terrain…

Our next event is the Town Centre Races next Wednesday evening from 6pm. If you’re intending to ride, please get your entry in to help us plan the races. And if you’re not racing but can help out on the night please let us know – this is one of the club’s big show piece events, with generous support from Ards and North Down Borough Council and closed roads, so we want to make the most of it! Looking forward to it!!
For some reason hill climbs always attract spectators…
