The Club regrets the passing of Alan Hammerton on Tuesday. Alan was a strong club time trialist in the late 1980s and early 1990s, recording times of 12:15 and 24:05 for 5 miles and 10 miles – quick in the pre-aero era. A bad accident in the early 1990s cut short his racing career, but he continued to help out with time keeping. He was awarded the Club Support trophy in 1989.

The Club sends its sympathy to his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Siobhan (who was also a member and raced successfully in the same era)  and the whole family circle at this time.
