The Ards Team were in good form at the start of stage 2 of the Newry 3 day this morning. Paul McMinn had a scare when he punctured on stage 1, but he safely got back up through the convoy, and all the Ards riders finished in the bunch. We hope to have a full report from our special correspondent on the event after the finish tomorrow. Thanks to Wirefox for their continued support of the Ards CC stage race team. Our friends from Halesowen CC were also back for the race, getting a man in the break last night. One of their riders from last year’s team, who rode the Tour of the North at Easter, has now progressed to Elite level and was racing against the pros at the British Champions on the IoM last weekend – clear evidence of the value of our short stage races for developing riders. And our great performance at the Donegal 3 day shows the great potential in Ards CC too.
