Great fun on family today

This morning’s Family Fun Run was a great success, with two dozen riders taking part, including Ards CC kids and their parents (and grand parent!), and also a contingent of older teenagers from Sustrans who were working towards Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Ready for the off

A variety of styles at the Comber Road crossing

The underage peleton looking good

The group met in Comber and cycled down the Greenway to Dundonald, where the underage committee has set up some skills games, including Slalom, slow race and the popular “shrinking box” challenge.

And in the slow race…

Lots of concentration needed in the slalom

Some of the adults also gave the games a go, although the judges had to caution a couple for aggressive behaviour in the shrinking box, and for moving backwards in the slow race 🙂

In the “shrinking box” game, the riders ride round in a large box

Then the cones are slowly moved inwards…

And the box starts to shrink

Smaller and smaller…

Until there is no longer room for everyone!

Thanks to everyone who helped to organise the event in advance and on the day – I think we all had a great time. Roll on the next event!
