Alan Rodgers take the lead in 10k Handicap Cup

With several club regulars away at the Girona Festival of Cycling this week, and others saving themselves for the Ards Town Centre Racing tomorrow night, just 14 riders faced the time keeper this evening. But it was still a fascinating race. Johnny Webb (North Down CC) was delighted to take the win, ahead of best Ards rider Robin Millar.

It was great to see three women taking part, with former Ards CC member Jill McClements (nee Heenan, now Killinchy CC) taking the win, and showing she’s lost none of her speed in the 20 years since she last competed on the Portaferry Road 🙂

Alan Rodgers took the win on handicap, and moves to the top of the 10k Handicap Trophy standings with just one 10k left to go.

Thanks as always to the timekeepers and pusher off.
We hope to see everyone down in Conway Square from 6.15pm tomorrow for the Ards Town Centre Races. It’s always a great night’s entertainment, and we need as many marshals as possible to ensure the event runs safely.
