In spite of a strong wind, times in this evening’s 10 mile time trial were very similar to the last 10 two weeks ago, and some riders even achieved personal bests. Fastest once again was Mark Kane (Northern Dave Kane), who went 1 second faster than previously with 21:46. He just pipped brother Paul who finished 14 seconds behind. It was great to see Paul Crossan finish with a strong 23:00 to take third overall and first Ards CC after a difficult season.
In the 10 mile handicap competition it was Mark Hedley who made the biggest improvement on the night, but Niall Brown also improved and his 3 points was enough to give him the 10 mile handicap trophy overall.
Finally, the club 10s also count towards the McFarlane Cup. Robin Millar was second fastest Ards rider on the night, and his 7 points was enough for him to inch past previous leader William Gill to win this competition.
