Winner Inglis rode 52*14 fixed – hints of Obree?
Ian Inglis (Curran Racing) stormed round the new Ards CC 25 mile time trial course to win the Champion of Champions 25 mile time trial in a very impressive time of 54:26. Second was Kevin Lynch (Newry Wheelers), closely followed by Glenn Kinning (East Antrim).
First lady was Gillian Orr (NDCC), who just pipped last year’s winner Louise Togneri (NDCC).
Ards CC riders were in the mix as well, with Ivan Robinson in 4th, Mark Watson 6th, and William Gill just getting the better of Jack Anderson for 8th.

Apart from a couple of delays due to tractors, the new course worked well – thanks to Dessie McIlwrath and Billy Kirk for their work in designing and measuring it. And thanks to timekeepers Ron Martin and Bobby Magreehan, and all the marshals on the night.
