The British cycle racing season typically closes with some hill climbs. In the past Ards CC ran events on Carrowreagh Road, Church Road and Bradshaw’s Brae, and had a number of hill climb specialists amongst its members. David Fowler (Northern – Dave Kane) won tonight’s five mile time trial on the Donaghadee Road with a super fast time of 11:17. Ards riders Richard Topping and Graeme Brown also both broke the 12 minute barrier for the first time, with Richard going slightly faster and also improving by the bigger margin on handicap.
