The final club race of the season was the Bradshaw’s Brae hill climb this evening. On a balmy evening, Ricky Topping (Ards CC) stormed up the climb in 3:56, breaking the 4 minute barrier and finishing just 5 seconds slower than Mark Kane’s event record set last year.
Second was Willy Gill (Ards CC) in an excellent 4:08, with former winner Geoff Brennan (Ards CC) rounding out the podium on 4:21.
Thanks as always to the time keepers and marshals, who have done sterling work all season. It’s time to take a well earned rest and recharge the batteries. Our Tour of Strangford Sportive is on this Sunday, and then there will be Saturday and Sunday club runs throughout the winter. And Darren asked me to remind everyone about the fun 10 mile TT on Christmas morning!
